‘Everyone could be destined for greatness if they would just realize their potential.’
Goal setting typically heralds the beginning of every calendar year both for individuals and corporate organizations alike. For organizations, the goals and objectives are usually set in line with the long term vision and mission. The plot would usually be incremental short and medium term goals that would culminate in achievement of the organization’s overall objectives. As time progresses, learning experiences would provide valuable insights that would be fed back into the loop for improvement. The Maintenance Organizations as a subsystem of the organization distill its own goals from the overall corporate objective. This is broken down into size-able projects and action plan to be implemented. Key among these size-able lots must be a learning plan for its staff. Our organizations greatest asset is the right people, in the right roles, equipped with the right knowledge.
Individuals are also keen on improving their performance on the job or in aspiration for a better job role and as such embark on a journey of personal development. While the motivation may differ from person to person, it is essential to note here that excellence in any field of life requires learning, unlearning and re-learning. This might require acquiring new, or modifying and reinforcing existing knowledge, behaviors, skills, values, or preferences. The outcome of such a step is a potential change in synthesizing information, attitudes and behavior relative to the type and range of experience.
